Research Paper Topics - What is Feminism
Research Paper Topics - What is Feminism?Feminism has a place in a good research paper. Why? Well, it's hard to really put into words.Feminism is, essentially, a general attitude towards women and things that are commonly seen as harmful to them. It has nothing to do with any specific laws or social positions on gender roles. Feminism has been around for centuries. In fact, it is such a broad and inclusive movement that it can be called the 'ideal' for a reason: it focuses on equality for both genders. There are several common ways to look at these ideas. The most common is as a major movement within feminism. It's pretty straight forward. There is a movement for women to have equal opportunities in society. This can be called equality for women, and it is basically a way of dealing with issues such as domestic violence, sexual harassment, etc.Equality for women is a broad term. It is, in fact, a lot more than just parity in pay. Feminism makes a large effort to deal with all the inju stices that are currently happening to women. The second way to look at equality for women is that it involves equal opportunity. Equal opportunities for career growth, economic security, health care, etc. Equality for women includes not only the opportunity but also acceptance. When women are truly accepted for who they are and not judged based on their physical appearance, they are more likely to be successful.Feminism can, perhaps, be best understood in relation to the role of marriage. Marriage is very important to many people. For those who don't like it, they tend to go to great lengths to find ways to undermine its significance. Often times, the problem is that marriage requires a woman to take on some level of emotional involvement that doesn't necessarily suit her desires. This is why so many women end up being unhappy married.Feminism, however, makes no assumptions about a man's happiness. It recognizes that some men (and women) are just plain happier in a committed relatio nship. This is the crux of feminism.Feminism is an idea that is difficult to summarize. Because feminism encompasses a wide variety of issues, it can be quite difficult to pin down and draw attention to one central concept. But one thing is certain: Feminism, in its original meaning, is a very positive concept, and it should be treated as such.
